To learn more about the following committees, contact the committee chair or the chapter administrator (info@afpnwo.org or 330-329-2472).

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee assists in the recruiting and retention of members in the Chapter. It also works in conjunction with the scholarship committee to recruit potential qualifying members. If potential members/scholars need information, inform the Chapter Administrator. Co-Chairs: Elizabeth Emmert & Shelly Orenstein.

Program Committee

The Program Committee identifies topics, speakers, and opportunities for educational programs for the benefit and professional development of AFP Northwest Ohio Chapter members. Educational program formats include but are not limited to monthly membership meetings; webinars; special meetings such as evening membership meetings; conferences, etc. Responsibilities also include scheduling program speakers and webinar sessions; working with the Chapter Ambassador, who will manage all facility arrangements for AFP meetings and programs; and coordinating with the PR and Media Committee to help promote programs. Chair: Ann Savage.

National Philanthropy Day

The National Philanthropy Day Committee is in charge of planning and executing the region's annual celebration of philanthropy. The event allows the community to honor outstanding fund-raising efforts in the area in the month of November. Meetings begin monthly beginning in March. Committee responsibilities include the coordination of: nominations process; invitation and program print materials; marketing and public relations; menu and decor; registration; and more. Co-Chairs: Daza Dzierwa & Nancy Hamilton .

Mentoring Committee

The Mentoring Program offered by AFP Northwest Ohio is a member-only benefit that provides individualized guidance and support to advance the skills of those newer to the profession, transitioning to a new area of the field, or looking for opportunities to grow in their fundraising career. For both mentors and mentees, this is an exceptional opportunity to share expertise, network with and learn from colleagues, and, ultimately, ensure the strength of Northwest Ohio’s philanthropic community. The mentoring committee manages the recruitment and engagement of mentoring pairs for the Chapter. If potential mentors/mentees need additional information, the committee informs the Chapter Administrator. Co-Chairs: Renee Canfield & Luke Reed.
